Windows 7 or 10 for laptop

I really love my Windows 7 on my desktop. I've had windows 10 on my laptop on my old mechanical hard drive, and I wasn't crazy about it. They had a lot of stuff I didn't want. I don't want a store, social media, those tiles, advertisements, or five different applications to open up a picture. It had a lot of junk on it that I couldn't remove. It took me ten minutes to open up applications and it always blue-screened on me whenever I had a project to do.

I'm a programmer so I'm wondering which one will serve me better. Does Windows 7 Ultimate take up greater space than Windows 10?

My laptop upgrade:
12 GB of ram.
500GB SSD.
Made in 2012 Samsung.

Sounds like you already made up your mind. I don't experiment with my workstation, i'd rather spent time on other things than troubleshooting.
