Xbox One or PS4 ?

The time has come for me to upgrade.. the question is in the topic, what do people have and what do they recommend?

I prefer the Xbox controller layout (although PS4 controller looks much nicer than it used to) and I like the sleekness of the PS4 console.

I prefer games like Halo and would like to play Halo 5, I do prefer Forza, but for some reason, cannot justify myself in getting it.. please help

Obviously I'd keep my PC, but I want something other to play some games on and watch DVDs etc.

My Xbox 360 has RROD me twice now, funnily, last night, its slow in startup but then it is 4 years old.

I have a ps4, only play it when an interesting game comes out though...

I've come to the following conclusion thus far:

PS4 is the better console, but lacks the wide range of games that the XB1 offer.

I have an XB1 but I've pretty much just been waiting for Halo to come out. Haven't turned it on in about 4 months.

Girlfriend bought me a ps4 for our 1 year anniversary recently. I've enjoyed it so far but haven't ran into many games that grasp my attention. I imagine that it's going to sit there eventually like my ps3 did and only use it for Netflix or shit like that. In either case, I'm very happy I got that over an Xbox 1.

I've always preferred the XBOX over PS (have had both) but have had no interest in playing either after I built a real PC. Follow your heart ramdrop.

Here's my suggestion.. Get a PS3 or Xbox 360 for $100 then you can buy ANY game you want out there used. I did that. I have so many games I bought for $5 each on ebay. I can buy the best funnest games of PS3/360 for $5. It's fine being 1 generation behind when you can get 6 games for the cost of 1 for latest generation (look for bulk sales - you might be able to get 7-8 games for $60!!). Remember, the PS3 also has blu-ray player and can stream netflix as well.

p.s. There are very few rare games that won't release on PC anymore alongside console - most of them still release on PC. Remember, they also still release the top games on PS3/360 so they're not truly dead consoles yet!!

p.p.s. If money is not an issue to you then none of this matters. Unfortunately for me, I'm not rich and don't yet make good money to afford it. I'm pleased with what I can afford within my budget & I'm not a materialistic person by any conventional means. I just think outside the box and I don't get sucked in by super marketing by Sony/Microsoft

I used to own a xbox360, 3 actually. Worst decision to get a console, have it get red rings twice, then still buy it again. Why did i buy it again? Cause I invested in a lot of games for it, and money into my Microsoft account. IF i can go back in time, i would of gotten a ps3, it always has more features than the xbox and goes above and beyond technical specs. Would i ever get a ps4, the chance is 5%. Would i ever get an xbox 1, the chance is 0% .To old now to be sitting around on a couch/bed playing video games.
